This is the clean version and the second track produced by 'Lil Frij' a close friend and rival of Scott Storch after his promise to MTV Base too bring through up and coming UK acts. The original tune is sooo much better and the clean edition sounds weird because they censor all the swearing. They should have either let him keep the swearing in or choose another song to make a video out of, because it doesn't sound right and isn't subtle, for instance: "it's like Shakespeare... with a little twist"...
Despite the PG editing, the song still has a catchy funky chorus and shows why people have referred to him as a lyrical genius and a modern day Shakespeare and the beat is brilliant as well as he sampled the backing tune from a song called "Lonliness" by Tomcraft and that's why in his song he says that he samples techno. I stress that the sample is an inspired choice, and NOT a rip-off.
Akala is definitely representing the UK Hip Hop/Grime Scene... a lot better than some of the wack US rappers. Akala's lyrics and flow are so fast, articulate and raw. I don't care what anyone else says, you need intelligence and skill to be this good.
Despite his beats, bars and rhymes being sick, the video is pretty boring, however. You can tell this was one of his first video projects because he looks so awkward in front of the camera as he can barely move to the beat. He only looks good on Channel U because everything else on there is so bad. And he should have shot the dude who made him wear that Shakespeare outfit as it makes him look like a midget. This would have been a chart topper with a better video. So in conclusion, it's a wicked track as the lyrics and delievery is immense, but we definitely need the explicit edition.
